How does it work?

Before you can put your property on our site, you first have to register with us. To do this, you simply go to the "Register / Log In" page and enter your name, address, email address and a password. This email address and password will be used for your future Logins to add and update your propery, so make a note of them.

Why advertise?

We enable holiday homeowners to have a webpage promoting their property for a very economical sum enabling homeowners to increase their holiday rental income. Most of the advertisers on our site are private owners who let out their property for either some or all of the year. Booking enquiries from our site go directly to the homeowner. There are no commissions or other hidden costs to worry about.

What services do you provide?

Each advertiser gets a full colour page advertisement for their property, together with room for up to 6 colour photos. As well as their email address, advertisers can also display other contact information such as telephone/mobile/fax and a link to their own website. All properties are added to our website search engine. Holidaymakers can then search for homes to rent. By logging in with their email address and password, advertisers can make changes to their advert page whenever they want and as often as they want.

How do I register

Simply go to the "Register / Log In" page and enter your name, address, email address and a password. This email address and password will be used for your future Logins to add and update your propery, so make a note of them. You can also optionally enter your phone numbers. These details are NOT automatically shown on your web page. Contact details for holiday-makers to use are entered seperately when you add your property.

What are your prices and how do I pay?

Because our site is highly automated our running costs are kept very low, enabling us to offer very competative prices. Our normal fee is £36 per year per property. Alternatively, you can just "test the water" for £20 for 6-months.

When you add your property you will come to a "Preview page. If you are happy with your efforts here, press the "Submit" button. You will then be asked to pay. We corrently only accept payments via PayPal. However, you no longer need to sign up to PayPal if you just want to pay by credit card. Just click the PayPal "Pay Now" button and select the "I do not want to sign up" link.

How do I add my property?

Log in using the email address and password you gave when you registered. Then click the "Add property" link. This will take you to a page where you enter all the details about your property together with how prospective renters can get in touch with you. When you've finished, click the "Add Pictures link". This will take you to where you can upload your pictures.

How do I add or change my photos?

After entering the details for your property, press the "Add photos" button. Once your property is submitted you can change our photos from the "Change your pics" link on the left menu bar. Uploading a picture for, say, image 3 will replace the current picture you have as your 3rd image. Image 1 will also be shown as a thumbnail in property search results so we recommend picking the best photo for this position. External shots work especially well here.
Also take a look at the photos that you are using. Are they showing your property at its best? Do you have a good mix of internal and external photographs and are they attractive and well-lit? Holidaymakers like to see what the interior looks like and will also be keen to see any attractive scenic shots from the property or nearby.

After uploading your pictures, press the "Preview" button to see your web page. Please make a note of your property's Reference ID, shown above the first picture; you may need it later. If you want to change anything, use your browser's "back" button. When you're happy, press the "Submit" button on the property display page. This will take you to the payment process.

How do I pay?

After reviewing your new web page (see above), press the "Submit" button on the property display page. This will take you to the payment process. Our payments are handled by PayPal. However you do not need to sign up with PayPay to pay by credit card. Just follow the instructions on the PayPal page. Once the payment is complete, your property will be activated and can then be viewed by anybody accessing the Holiday-Hideaways site.

Should you want to pay at a later date, or to renew your membership, you can use the "Make Payment" link on the left menu bar.

What if I don't have my photos on my computer?

You can post them to us in the UK; email us for the address. We can then scan these digitally for you and add them to your page. Please enclose a stamped and self-addressed envelope if you would like these returned. We do not charge for this service which includes up to 6 photos.

How should my photos be configured for the best results?

Ideally landscape 320 x 200 pixels. You can send larger ones but they won't appear any bigger on the site. Also, if they are more than 500kBytes each then they won't upload. You can normally edit your images on your computer using image software such as Paint, Paint Shop Pro or PhotoShop.
The photos must be in .jpg format.

How can I change the photos on my page or add more?

Login with your owner's email address and password and you will be taken to the Member's area. Here you select the "Change Pics" button. If you want to, say, change the 3rd picture then simply upload the new picture as Image3.
A maximum of 6 photos can be used.

Can I change my advert once it has been published?

Yes. Login with your owner's email address and password and you will be taken to the Member's area. Here you select the "Edit Property" button. You will get then get a link to your property(s). Press the "Edit Property" button on this screen and change what you wish to change. Then "Preview the page. If it is to your likeing press "Save" otherwise press "Back" and try again.

Can you make changes for me if I have problems or do not have easy access to a computer?

Yes. Just tell us what you wish to change and we will do it. We need to know your property RefID though. This is shown just above the first photo on your page.

Are payments I make secure and do you store my payment card details?

All our payments are handled through PayPal's secure server site. We never see any of your payment details. Note that you can now use PayPal to pay with a credit card without signing up for a PayPal account.

Do you offer any premium advertising on your site to increase my property's exposure?

No we don't at the moment. If there is sufficient interest we could well consider it in the future though.

How can I improve the performance of my adverts?

By trying to make the Title as interesting as possible and by mentioning in the Description as many interesting features as you can. People doing a search are then more likely to hit your property.

Why can't I login?

The email address and password you use to login are case sensitive. Is the Caps Lock key on?
The email address should be the one that you registered with and not the one on your web page, if they are different.
If all else fails, click the "Forgotton Password" link and we will sort it out.

When I try to upload photos to the site it fails

Photos should not be larger than 500kBytes and they must have a .jpg extension.
